Video: Biden, Harris provide remarks on the financial system after Zoom assembly with CEOs & labor leaders
President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris offered remarks on the economy Monday afternoon. Biden also answered a few questions.
The remarks and comments to the media were made, beginning at the one-hour, 14-minute mark of the above YouTube video from Yahoo Finance.
On Monday, Biden and Harris held a Zoom conversation with union and business leaders regarding the economy.
Biden said the conversations with labor leaders and CEOs were productive and would continue.
Biden wants to pump hundreds of billions of dollars into clean energy and infrastructure projects, and award government contracts to companies that build their products in America. He cited a report by Moody’s that said Biden’s plan would create up to 18.6 million new jobs.
“There’s so much we can do,’’ Biden said during his prepared remarks. “The only way we can do any of this is with us working together. I know we can do this.”
The President-Elect said CEOs and labor leaders agreed that the incoming administration should access Covid-19 vaccine plans. So far, that has not occurred.
Biden’s most pointed comments were directed at the Trump administration’s attitude about curtailing the coronavirus even as cases are skyrocketing across the country
They spoke from The Queen Theater in Wilmington, which has become a transition headquarters for Biden as President Donald Trump refuses to concede.
“We don’t have a moment to waste,” Harris said of efforts to turn around the economy.
